Vans Slip-On Womens
Japanese boutique DELUXE has partnered with Vans for a unique spin on the
Vans Slip-On Womens silhouette that pays homage to one of the most legendary symbols in Japanese culture – the dragon. Dressed in a stately black color scheme constructed of premium suede, the left and the right sneaker feature a mirror image of an embroidered dragon whose snake-like body slithers all the way around its lateral side toward the heel – lending to an aesthetic that is clearly derived from Japanese souvenir jackets.
Vans throws it back this holiday season with two classic models in a retro feel. The vintage aesthetic is achieved on the
Vans Slip-On Mens and Old Skool in two ways: fuzzy brushed suede constructions and retro-inspired color palettes that harken back to the 1960s when
Vans Slip-On Discount was born and became the worldwide leader in skateboard footwear. Each colorway is finished with a Marshmallow (off-white) hue for the iconic vulcanized sole to add to the vintage feel.
Last week we got word that Chanel’s own Karl Lagerfeld would be collaborating with Vans on a full collection of footwear and apparel due out September 7th. Now we know exactly what
the
Vans Slip-On Sale will look like as Karl replaces the iconic checkerboard pattern with his face silhouette logo for a tongue-in-cheek take on classic chevron graphics. There’s also rumored to be both a Vans Sk8-Hi and a Vans Old-Skool in the works.
